Volunteer
The Centre is run by a team of volunteers. You could help as much or as little as you want. It is a great way to meet new people, to do something worthwhile in your community and to have fun as well. There are lots of different ways you can help, ranging from a few hours a month to a few hours a week. Here are a few ideas:

-
Once a month, there is a senior social event. You could help put out the tables or chairs in the downstairs hall or help clear them away, make sandwiches, or pour teas and coffees.
-
Twice a month there is a senior film club. You could help set up the chairs and check that the picture and sound system are working. After the film, we serve teas and coffees so you could help in the kitchen.
-
Once a week, we run the market breakfast cafe on Thursday mornings There is a rota and you can help whenever you are free. You can help make teas and coffees, and bacon or sausage sandwiches.
-
If you have a particular skill or talent, you could think about doing a special session at one of the clubs. For example, if you can do football tricks, perhaps you could come into the youth club one night and teach the kids some tricks. Or if you are a hairdresser, you could show the kids some great styles. If you have a musical talent, you may want to do a short performance at a senior social event.
-
We have a team of volunteers who do the maintenance and minor repairs on the building itself. If you are a plumber, electrician, roofer or generally quite handy (!), any help would be welcomed.

All our volunteers are DBS checked.
